Quiet Summer

Well its been a while since i have posted been doing a little traveling and just came back from a workshop with Marv Kaisersatt the second one this year . I have to admit he is one heck of a good teacher and carver. We all carved a train engineer holding a oilcan (pic to follow) . I also finally got Marv's book on caricature carving faces and am totally enthralled in this book now . I will start posting a few more updates shortly hang in .Hope everyone is having a great summer even though right now it's pretty hot .

My daughter is a Harry potter fan so Ithought I would carve a wizard for her this is another original

My Finished Carving Luther the washtub player

I had the privilege of taking a week long course with Marv Kaisersatt it was on design of your own idea . We started the week making a clay model of our design. We then used that to make a pattern on our wood . If you ever get a chance to do a class with Marv do it he is an excellent teacher . The rest of the week he gave us pointers on face and body positioning .This is the end result hope you like.
